Everybody’s Business is Nobody’s Business (Pdf)
Everybody’s Business is the story of the big idea that businesses should be part of the solution rather than just part of the problem. It follows a massive swathe of business from the corridors of power to the tiniest capillaries of commerce, and looks at how companies are using their resources, expertise and powers to add value and create better worlds.
“Everybody’s Business is Nobody’s Business: Or, Private Abuses, Public Grievances Exemplified” is a 1725 pamphlet by Daniel Defoe. It deals with the “exorbitant Wages of our Women, Servants, Footmen”.
A seminal record from New York’s club and radio scene in the mid-80s, ‘Nobody’s Business is Your Business’ is a soulful blues standard by Porter Grainger, sung by many (including the incomparable Billie Holiday) and reworked as an uplifting house anthem by Boyd Jarvis. It is considered almost sacred to regulars at Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage and a favourite amongst DJs across the world.
